Working on the set design for this dystopian corporate drama was a challenge. How to create the feeling of claustrophobia and uncomfortable intimacy in the large auditorium of South London Theatre. It’s unusual to want to make a theatre smaller – without losing seating capacity of course!

We added back wall flats to bring the entire stage area forwards to the edge of the audience and placed our acting space on a raised platform giving the only 3mx3m in which to move.

I had the pleasure of working with Susanne Joseph on this powerful, and absorbing one-woman piece.

The Kitchen Sink

Things aren’t going to plan for one family in Withernsea. Pieces are falling off Martin’s milk float as quickly as he’s losing customers and something’s up with Kath’s kitchen sink. Billy is pinning his hopes of a place at art college on a revealing portrait of Dolly Parton, whilst Sophie’s dreams of becoming a Jiu-Jitsu teacher might be disappearing down the plug hole.
